Terms & Conditions

1. Contract 

1.1. These terms and conditions constitute a legally binding contract between you as the student, any guarantor (eg, parent or guardian) and Lorna Wing Cookery.

1.2. This contract is governed by English law.

1.3. No failure or delay by Lorna Wing Cookery in enforcing any of her rights under the contract shall be deemed to be a waiver of such a right. 


2. Bookings & Cancellations

2.1. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis on receipt of full payment.

2.2. We reserve the right to change the timing and/or content of any class or course.

2.3. If we have to cancel a class, a course, or part of a course, we will always give you as much notice as we reasonably can. We will endeavour to offer you the choice of an alternative class or course, or repayment of any fees received in respect of the class, course or part of the course that has been cancelled. We regret that we cannot be liable for any other expenses you may incur.

2.4. To proceed with our hands-on group classes, we require a minimum of six students.


3. Fees & Refunds

3.1. Payment for any class or course must be made in full and in advance.

3.2. Once you have booked and paid for your class or course, we regret that no refunds can be given except in the instances outlined in 2.2 and 2.3, above. If you are unable to attend a hands-on class, you may offer your place to someone else.


4. Allergies, Dietary Restrictions & Special Needs

4.1. If you (or the young person in your care, if they are the student) have any allergies, dietary restrictions, medical needs, learning difficulties or access requirements, please speak to Lorna Wing Cookery before you book and pay for a class or course. This information will be treated with the utmost discretion.

4.2. Lorna Wing Cookery is not able to guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Hands-on classes in our kitchen are unsuitable for any student with a severe and potential life-threatening allergy.

. Copyright

5.1. Lorna Wing Cookery will provide students with a copy of the recipes used for each class or course. These are copyrighted and intended only for your personal use, and they may not be reproduced for any commercial purpose.

. Filming, Photography & Image-Sharing

6.1. We may take photographs or videos during a hands-on class or course for use on our website, in our publications or on social media, or for future marketing purposes. You will be asked at the time of booking to give or decline your consent to being photographed or filmed.

6.2. If we wish to share a photograph or video of you (or the young person in your care, if they are the student) that we have taken or you have shared with us for any of the purposes outlined above, we will seek your permission before doing so on a case-by-case basis. We will never reveal your (or their) name or any other personal information.


7. Communications

7.1. We use WhatsApp, Skype, email and text message, as well as telephone calls, to communicate with students following our online courses. The student’s parent or guardian will be asked at the time of booking to consent to us communicating in this way with the young person in their care.


8. Indemnity 

8.1. Lorna Wing Cookery will not be liable for any loss suffered by you that is indirect, special or consequential, or that results from any event beyond our reasonable control.

8.2. You are advised to take out insurance against the loss of fees or incurring of expenses as a result of illness, personal accident, force majeure or cancellation of a class or course.

8.3. Please do not bring any items of special value to a hands-on class. We regret that Lorna Wing Cookery cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possession. 


9. Complaints

9.1. Please raise any complaint about a class, course or other matter immediately with Lorna Wing, who will address it promptly and proactively so as to find a solution that is agreeable to all parties.
